Using Glue

My name is Shane O'Leary, but I represent as Using Glue because I, er, use a lot of glue. After relatively respectable careers in marketing pornography and music journalism I decided to become an artist. That was three years ago. I was encouraged by a heavyweight gallery owner from Los Angeles who said encouraging things about my early work and equally discouraged by selling very little for the first two years. I understand that I don't make 'pretty'work, but I only find motivation in things that really delight or really annoy me.

I rarely buy any materials. Part used tins of paint are usually sourced from neighbours, building sites and skips. Books and magazines come from recycling bins, boot fairs and charity shops.
